Sergey Sharonov became the winner of the main event of the first stage Russian Poker Tourheld on March 7-14 in Kiev, in the hotel Russia... A total of 231 players took part in the tournament with an entry fee of $2'000. Sharonov has already managed to win the side tournament for $1'000 at the Moscow stage of the RPT in 2009.
On the first day, eight levels of 60 minutes were played. On the second day, a little more than half of the participants passed - 138 players. And from the second day, the blinds were raised every 75 minutes.
When there are only three players left at the final table with approximately equal stacks, they decide to slightly change the payout structure. The first was originally supposed to be $122'700, and the third was only $40'400. After the meeting, payments became smoother: 1st place $90K, 2nd - $80K and 3rd - $60K.
