The organizers of live poker tournaments agree with poker rooms on the conduct of a series of events in the online format. Recently, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) entered into an agreement with the Good Game Network Asian network, according to which the planned competitions will be held in four poker rooms - GGPokerOK, Natural8, BestPoker and GGPoker.
Why is the live series being converted to online format?
The critical situation in the world associated with the proliferation of COVID-19 continues. Therefore, the organizers of live poker tournaments are forced to postpone planned events or organize them in online rooms. Due to quarantine restrictions, APT had to revise the timing and format of the event:
- APT Vietnam - Da Nang;
- APT Tokyo Japan etc.
Despite the failure of all plans, APT hopes that the online series of tournaments will be noticed by a large number of players. And this should positively affect the brand’s fame.
When will the APT Online Series take place?
The APT Online Series Festival kicks off on April 29th and ends on May 10th. The tournament series falls on Golden Week, so an influx of a huge number of poker players from different countries of Europe and Asia is expected. According to forecasts, Japan will become the leader in the number of Asian participants.
The organizers of the festival have not yet set a schedule for future events, but something is known about the upcoming event. The APT Online Series will include:
- Short Deck Championships;
- Main Event;
- PLO Championships;
- Championships.
Buy-ins start from 400$, and 800$ will have to pay for entry to Championships.
APT geography will expand
APT organizers are confident that the transition of the festival to the online format will allow them to pleasantly impress the global poker community. As a rule, the tournament series of the world tour are organized in the Asia-Pacific region, which is not very convenient. And although the brand has been over 12 years old, few people know about it in other parts of the world.
