Jason mercier made an interesting sidebet for the whole of 2011. Whoever goes further in the tournament pays, one might say, compensation for overtaking in the amount of $2'000. If he gets to the final table, he pays $5'000, if he gets to the top3 - $10'000, and finally, if he wins the tournament, the payout is $25'000.
If the players made such a deal in 2010, Daniel would only lose $8'000 to his opponent. Considering the fact that Negreanu has already hit top 3 on PCA $100K Super High Roller, Mercier got rich already at $10'000.
