Yesterday Main Event in London has entered its hottest stage. At least everyone who is still in the game will already receive prize money, because the first 36 places are paid. It was a good day for John Juanda, Daniel Negrenu and Justin Smith. Our compatriot also pleased us Ivan Demidov - he finished the day at 10th position.
As the leader with 657,500 in chips, American player Juanda finished his day with luck. Against Jani Sointula, he raised the Finn and called on his continuation bet on a Q flop-6-4... The turn rolled 7, and Juanda counterattacked the Finn's bet all-in. Sointula sensed something was wrong, but couldn't throw a sixes set. In the end, Juanda showed two sevens and won the pot with the top set. Because the king of spades on the river couldn't change anything.
Daniel Negreniu was again in excellent shape, finishing the day slightly behind the leader (653,000 chips). Among his victims was another Finn Harri Pehkonen, who didn't really like Negrenyu's raise on the J flop-8-5... Finn had a K hand-Kand he went all-in. His worst guesses turned out to be true - Negrenyu showed J-8 and won the pot with two pair, since the turn and river were Q and 4.
Justin Smith ("BoostedJ") also has a good chance of making the final table, who finished the day with 624,500 in chips. Andy Bloch and Scott Fishman are in the middle of the table, while Mike Matusow and Erik Seidel are not very comfortable (147,500 and 85,000 in chips).
Let's mark the 10th place Ivan Demidov, who, of course, kept all the chances to compete for the first prize.
