This weekend in 
Las Vegas kicks off the first of ten qualifiers for a tournament called Quest of Champions... Each special qualifying tournament has 10 players competing for a paid spot in the finals. The winner of the final, which will take place in January 2006, will receive the main prize - 15,000,000$, which is twice what the main champion of the 2005 WSOP received.
Such a grand prize aroused great interest not only from the media, but also from well-known players such as Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan.
The first qualifier will take place this Sunday with the following pros: Ted Forrest, Kathy Leibert, Layne Flack, Barry Greenstein, Men The Master Nguyen, Freddy Deeb, Thor Hansen, Joe Awada, Antonio Esfandiari, and Rene Angeli.
At the grand final in January, 100 players will take part in the tournament. One seat reserved for 2005 WSOP winner - Joe Hachem... The 20 seats will be filled by professional players who will be selected through their special qualifications. The rest, 79 seats, are open to anyone who can buy-in to 250,000$ (!).
The main organizer of this tournament, Jason Augustine, said that Hollywood celebrities are already lining up to participate in the tournament.
