Famous online poker room - Poker Stars announced the start World Cup of Poker 2006, one of the most exciting competitions, as national teams take part in it. Each participating country is represented by five players. The game format is No Limit Texas Hold'em Heads-Up.
This year, 46 teams from 39 countries of the world will take part, which will be divided into 8 groups of 6 in each. Until the 8 strongest teams are determined, the competition will be held online, in Poker Stars... Top 8 teams will go to 
Barcelona, where they will participate in the final stage and compete for 200'000$ + additional prizes.
As for the formation of teams, it will look like this:
- one player - the captain, appointed by the poker room administration;
- two players based on TLB results for 2005;
- two more will be able to qualify online for FPP.
