Towards the end of 2014, the organizers of the World Series of Poker announced the dates for the 2015 WSOP series. At the end of January it was announced that there would be no guaranteed $10 million to the winner in the main event, but instead the payout zone would expand. A couple of days ago, the long-awaited WSOP 2015 schedule was revealed.
Let's go over the most interesting new tournaments.
The main one by right is Event #5: $565 THE COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold'em $5M Gtd - a five-day tournament with four starting days and the lowest buy-in of $565 in the history of the WSOP series. Plus, the prize pool is guaranteed to be at least $5 million.
One of the bracelets will be drawn online - Event #64: $1'000 WSOP.com Online No-Limit Hold'em and participation in it will be available only to Americans, and even then not to everyone, but only to those in whose state online poker is allowed. And one more nuance - heads-up players will play out live in order to present the winner with a gold WSOP bracelet immediately after the victory.
Each new level will start 90 minutes later in Event #42: $1'500 Extended Play No-Limit Hold'em, which will last four days.
In the event Event #55: $1'500 Draftkings 50/50 No-Limit Hold'em, there will be exactly half of the number of participants in the prize places.
In addition to the Event #40: $1'000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship, in which only those over 50 can take part, there will also be Event #43: $1'000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em. The admission of participants is 65 years and above.
The Event #67: $10'000 Dealers Choice Championship will feature 19 variations of poker types - limit, pot-limit, no-limit, Omaha, Hold'em, Razz, Badugi, HORSE, etc.
In addition to bracelet tournaments, players are expected to:
- daily satellites for $75, $185, $330 and $550;
- daily tournaments - Deepstack No-Limit Hold'em Tournaments, for which bracelets will not be awarded at $235, $185 and $135;
- cash game.
