Annual National Heads-Up Poker Championship Canceled

NBC Heads-Up Championship 2011After seven seasons, NBC organizing and sponsoring the annual tournament National Heads-Up Poker Championship, announced the cancellation of this event in 2012. Senior Director of Public Relations - Adam Freifeld, noted that he does not exclude the possibility of resuming the tournament in the future.

The tournament, annually bringing together the best 64 players from all over the world, was held in a luxurious Caesars Palace was quite popular. The first winner, in 2005, was Phil Hellmuth... Then the title was won Ted Forrest (2006), Paul Wasika (2007), Chris Ferguson (2008), Hack Sid (2009), Annie Duke (2010) and Eric Seidel (2011). It so happened that the National Heads-Up Poker Championship was obeyed only by the hosts of the tournament - the Americans, however, they were in the overwhelming majority of the tournaments.
