World Poker Tour closes its online room

Still struggling, once the flagship of the poker industry World Poker Tour, announced on the eve of the closure of his online poker room.

World Poker Tour was a poker network skin Cryptologic... No official reasons were given for the termination of the relationship. The poker room's contract with the network was signed before 2011, but some sources say that the players World Poker Tour just didn't generate the required amount of rake to meet the required Cryptologic license fees.

Network Cryptologic does not accept US players. The decision to close came at a time when World Poker Tour stocks are at historically low levels. The reasons for the incident are cited as a decrease in the number of television broadcasts and the inability to use the promoted brand for the company to generate related income. World Poker Tour continues to air new episodes of poker tournaments on Fox Sports, and repeats last season's games on Game Show Network.
