Poker players choose Obama - 2: 1

Research by DuplicatePoker.com among 1,639 poker players in the United States showed that poker players plan to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama by a 2 to 1 ratio against Republican candidate John McCain. 1,043 players said they would vote for the Illinois Senator in November. Only 596 players are ready to vote for the senator from Arizona.

A slightly larger number of respondents (1,167) think Obama has a stronger candidate list than McCain. This primarily speaks to doubts about the value of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to the efforts of the Republican Party. 1,117 of those polled think Obama will win the election.

Both Obama and McCain are known to play poker. The ability to play poker has long been associated in America with success in business and politics.

“Poker players know how to watch carefully and take measured risks in a time-limited environment. The best poker players quickly identify their opponents and determine the best way to get an edge over them. The poll results are a good indicator of how Americans are reacting to events on the political stage, ”reflects Daniel Flamberg, head of marketing. DuplicatePoker.com.

In fact, the popularity of candidates is more influenced not by the election race itself, but by the situation in the economy, in Iraq and sympathy for the parties.

915 people believe that the election race will not in any way affect the outcome of the elections, while 713 people think the opposite. Among the decisive factors in voting, poker players single out the economy (602) of a person, adherence to party sympathies (379), the war in Iraq (348). Poker players also believe that the views of women (575) and blacks (541) will be decisive in the upcoming elections.

The survey was conducted online from 2 to 4 September 2008. Respondents came from 32 US states. The 87% respondents were males between the ages of 18 and 54. The average annual income of the respondents was $ 77,000. Full voting results are available on the website DuplicatePoker.com.
