Winner - Steve Paul-Ambrose
How long have you been playing poker?
I started playing in January 2004 and by the time I won the PCA, I had been playing for exactly two years. And this was my first WPT championship.

How did you get to Stars Caribbean Adventure Poker?
I've played more $ 22 turbo tournaments at Pokerstars and won several seats in a $ 650 tournament (PCA satellite). I was lucky to get a seat in the PCA in the first $ 650 tournament.

Were you worried when you sat down at the table on the first day?
Oh yeah. When the first hand was played, I got two closed queens, and my heart just jumped out of my chest when I went for a raise. I was very happy that no one called. I'm not sure I was able to think clearly.

We all dream of winning the final table. Did you get a good night's sleep before the final table?
On no one night did I have any trouble sleeping. We played so much that I was just exhausted.

Final table

Did you have any plan for how to play in the final?
Not really, just be lucky. Pokerstars sent Joe Hachem to help those who made it to the Stars tournament. And he told me to just play, have fun and hope for luck. The blinds are going up so fast, so that's all you can do.

What was going on in your head when the last card was dealt and you realized that you had already won?
I do not even know. I clenched my fists in a fit, mentally hugged my family, and my first real thought was to shake hands with the player who took second place

Final Heads-Up
When it comes to a heads-up game in the World Tournament finals, all the money goes to the table. Is this real money?
Unfortunately not. It's called Show Only and you don't feel like it's real money. Although I really hoped that they would turn out to be real.

Last all-in
Did Poker Stars just write you a check for your winnings?
They deposited the entire amount ($ 1.3 million) into an account with Stars, and so I had a very large balance for a while.

Final board
In a few months, this event will be shown on TV. Do you think you will become a better known person after many people see you on the screen?
I do not think. I think that I played two hands very badly, and I hope this point doesn't get too much attention. It will be shown in Canada even later, so I think I just have to wait and see what happens.
