The first of 54 tournaments has ended World Series of Poker 2008<\/strong> - Championship Pot-Limit Hold'em. A total of 352 players took part in the tournament, each of whom contributed $10'000. The winner was \"\" Nenad Medic<\/em>who, with his first gold bracelet, also received $794'112.<\/p>\n

Nenad Medic called on the button and Andy Bloch raised to 300,000. Medic equalizes. The flop comes 8-5-4... Bloch bets 500,000, Medic raises the pot, and Bloch calls, betting all of his chips. Bloch reveals pocket nines 9-9and Medic shows - 5-7thus having a pair, flush draw, and gat shot. J comes on the turnand Medic has a flush. But Bloch can still win on the high flush by crossing another heart on the river. But ... River - 5, and Nenad Medic wins the first WSOP in 2008, becoming the world champion in Pot-Limit Hold'em. Nenad Medic has his first gold bracelet and his second victory in prestigious competitions (he won the World Poker Tour in 2006).<\/p>\n

Nenad Medic was born in Serbia and currently lives in Canada. At the University of Waterloo, he defended the honor of his university, playing on the basketball team. In WSOP tournaments three times "hit the prizes".<\/p>\n

Nikolay Evdakov called from the small blind, Nenad Medic, being on the big blind, checked. The flop is A-T-Q Evdakov bets 31,000 and Medic raises the pot. After a short pause, the Russian goes all-in. Medic calls, revealing Q-6... Evdakov shows J-9, which so far only gives an open street. On the turn comes 4 and the river is T, which does not help the Russian and he leaves the tournament 12th, taking with him $49'632.<\/p>\n

Russian Alexander Kostritsyn finished 17th and won $33'088. Kostritsy moved all-in with his remaining chips with 7-9 and was called by Andy Bloch with AQ. The flop comes Q-9-2, which gave both players a pair. 6 fell on the turn, river - 6 and Bloch knocked out the Russian winner of the 2008 Aussie Millions Poker Championship<\/p>\n
